I made this scene because I wanted to show I can work in a realistic style. I never made a pistol before, so that took me the longest of the four.
I used Zbrush for almost everything. In hindsight it might have been better to use Zbrush for only the details.
Everything in this scene was textured in substance painter.
I am quite happy with the result and learned a lot on the way!
For the spyglass I mainly used maya. I made this choice because when I made the pistol, I found Zbrush wasn’t optimal for creating everything. By using a combination of Maya and Zbrush, I was able to create this object in under a day.
I still made the leather seam in Zbrush. This was a fun experience for me, I needed to look a lot at the way leather behaves in different situations.
